Ibrahimovic 'very confident' of Champions League progress

The Sweden international believes the Ligue 1 leaders have a good chance of reaching the semifinals
Zlatan Ibrahimovic says Paris Saint-Germain is still capable of reaching the semifinals of the Champions League at the expense of Barcelona after its 2-2 draw at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday.

The Ligue 1 giants recorded a hard-fought draw in the first leg of the quarterfinal tie following Blaise Matuidi's stoppage-time equalizer, and Ibrahimovic is determined to seal the deal at Camp Nou next week.

"I am very confident of progressing. We have a great opportunity. It will not be easy but we will go there and play the game and we will see," Ibrahimovic told reporters.

He added, "It was a good game. We demonstrated we could play and I think 2-2 is a fair result if you look at the game. We played against a fantastic team. We were 1-0 down and 2-1 down, so it is good for us. We showed character and this gives us more confidence.

Though Ibrahimovic is confident of success at Camp Nou, he is cautious of raising any expectations. The Swedish striker points out that the team has a lot of new players and it is its first appearance in the Champions League in a decade.

"We are only here to learn. This is the first year for the club, everything is new and we have a lot of new players.   It is not easy to play against Barcelona. The game went well for me. We have to play like a team and when the team plays well it is easier for me."

The return at Camp Nou takes place on April 10.
