Doncaster Rovers-Blackburn Rovers Betting Preview: Visitors value to bag goals against shaky hosts

Both sides are still looking for their first league win of the season and our tipster is backing Gary Bowyer's men to be amongst the goals at Keepmoat Stadium on Friday night
Both Doncaster Rovers and Blackburn Rovers are still searching for their first win of the Championship season and the two sides go head-to-head at the Keepmoat Stadium on Friday night.

Doncaster were defeated 3-1 by Blackpool on the opening day of the campaign while last week’s fixture against Wigan was postponed due to the Latics’ involvement in the Community Shield, so Paul
Dickov’s side will be hungry for success this weekend.

The home side were 1-0 winners over Rochdale in the Capital One Cup though and can be backed at 6/4 (2.50) with Betway to follow up by claiming all three points against Gary Bowyer’s men.

Blackburn battled their way to a 1-1 draw with Derby County on the opening day of the league campaign before suffering late heartache against Nottingham Forest at Ewood Park last weekend.

Gary Bowyer’s side will be targeting all three points from their trip to Keepmoat Stadium and they can be backed at 33/20 (2.65) with Betway to claim their first win of the season against Paul Dickov’s men. The same firm go 23/10 (3.30) that the match ends in stalemate.

Given that Blackburn have netted just once in their opening two league fixtures, it is perhaps unsurprising that Betway offer just 13/20 (1.65) for fewer than three goals to be scored at Keepmoat Stadium on Friday night.

However, Blackburn netted on three occasions against Carlisle in the Capital One Cup while Paul Dickov’s men leaked three goals to Blackpool on the opening day of the season and there may be value in backing goals here.

Blackburn certainly carry plenty of attacking threat with Scotland international Jordan Rhodes, who bagged an impressive 26 goals in 43 appearances for Rovers last term, likely to spearhead the attack for the visitors.

Should Doncaster display the same defensive deficiencies that were evident against Blackpool on the opening day of the campaign then the 11/10 (2.10) quote from Betway for more than two goals to be scored on Friday would appear to represent outstanding value.

For those looking to back bigger prices, the 17/10 (2.70) quote from the same firm for Gary Bowyer’s side to score at least two goals at Keepmoat Stadium looks too big to ignore and should be snapped up accordingly.
