Autoblindën stole in China, caught after 21 years


After more than two decades on the run, the last robbery suspect most of an armored truck in China, fell into the hands of the police.

Guangzhou city authorities were able to arrest the suspect Chen Xunmin almost 22 years after the crime.

Chen had changed its name and appearance through several plastic surgeries, but was unable to escape the police. On December 22, 1995, 7 gunmen among them Chen also attacked and robbed an armored car in front of an earth bank in Guanzhou city left 15 million yuan, or about 2.5 million dollars.

No one was killed or wounded during the robbery, but she had a great impact on police forces since it was the biggest robbery ever committed. Even a Chinese television has created a television series based on the robbery.

Chinese authorities then hired 3,500 police officers to search suspects and created a force of 400 investigators who deal exclusively with this issue.

Over the years, while many of the investigators changed their position or went into retirement, only Chen remained at large. Chinese authorities gave no details on how were they able to find it after so many years, but said that some officers were still a part of the task force from the beginning, almost 22 years ago, were credited for this achievement.
