Del Bosque: Ecuador made life hard for Spain

                                                                                            

The 62-year-old coach was satisfied with the performance of his side but admitted they didn't have it all their own way

Vicente del Bosque admitted Spain had their work cut on on Wednesday night after a battling 2-0 friendly win over Ecuador.
Goals from Alvaro Negredo and Santi Cazorla were enough for victory in Guayaquil and Del Bosque was left satisfied with his side's display, but complimentary of their South American opponents.

"We played well and we're quite satisfied," Del Bosque told reporters afterwards.

"The most important thing is to keep the competitive spirit, all young and old, keep that style. We are very confident.

"We faced a team that made us work. As we predicted, Ecuador were strong in the air. They have good players."

Spain are unbeaten in their World Cup qualifying group, but are just one point ahead of second-placed France after five matches.
They travel to Finland in their next qualifier on September 6 in a clash which is crucial to their chances of winning automatic qualification to next year's tournament in Brazil.
