The former Napoli boss has dismissed suggestions that
Inter are in a similar position to that of Juventus in 2011 following a
dismal campaign last season
Walter Mazzarri has stressed that his situation at Inter cannot be compared to that of Antonio Conte upon his arrival at Juventus in 2011.Conte joined the current Serie A champions on the back of a disappointing 2010-11 campaign, only to guide them to back-to-back league titles in the next two seasons.
However, Mazzarri has insisted that things are different for him at Inter as they are unable to make their presence felt on the transfer market as Juventus did two years ago.
"I don't want to make any comparisons to other teams. I only care about Inter," Mazzarri told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"The only thing Juventus [from 2011] and Inter have in common is that they had two disappointing seasons. They then flexed their muscles in the transfer market, though.
"I have never been as calm and relaxed as this year. Massimo Moratti and I talk a lot and we understand each other.
"The club's objective is to put together a strong team. The club are doing whatever they can and I appreciate what I have."
Inter had to settle for ninth spot in the Serie A table last term and will be desperate to challenge for the top places again in 2013-14.
