The world says goodbye to 2016 fireworks show
Fireworks lit the skies of the world cities and people across the globe welcomed the new year. From Sidney to Moscow, from Paris to New York, the people said goodbye to 2016, a turbulent year in the global politics.
Many cities had increased to maximum security measures after a year in which aggressors trucks collided on crowds in Nice and Berlin. Thousands of extra police have been on duty in London and other European cities.
