Erdogan, NATO buffet: If we are allies, not support terrorists



If you consider Ankara's strategic ally and partner, member countries of NATO have to stand by Turkey and not to support terrorist organizations. This is the announcement of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, made earlier this swelling during a speech at a ceremony in the Council assessments Turkish Scientific and Technological Research (TUBITAK).

Earlier in the day, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu also stressed that "it is common knowledge" that the United States has supplied weapons to the Syrian arm of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) fighters or rather "YPG". The latter is a subsidiary of armed "PYD" official, the PKK's branch in Syria, which is considered a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.

According to Turkey, "YPG" and "PYD" are also terrorist organizations, as are subsidiaries of "PKK" happen. However, the United States has considered branches "YPG and PYD" as a "reliable partner" in fighting on the ground in Syria, and to continue to support them. These terrorist groups currently operating in northern Syria and control most of the area on the border with Turkey.

However, Erdogan accused some Western countries for fraud, regarding their supply of weapons. "If you have given these terrorist organizations gun, and then pretend that you do not send armaments but only ammunition, we can not believe it," the Turkish president said.

Contradictions in fact been observed since the autumn of this year, when US officials confirmed that they had sent weapons Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Syria, most of whom are militants "YPG / PYD". According to Erdogan, Turkey has abandoned Operation Protection Euphrates to liberate Al-Babin, a strategic city for "DAESH" -in (Arabic acronym for the Islamic State) in northern Syria, having recently received no support from NATO or any other ally.
