In Finland it is worth more to be unemployed
No one would mistake the northernmost corner of Finland to Silicon Valley in the US. Situated between low pine forest, only 100 miles below the Arctic, Oulu seems better suited to grazing deer than to educate beginners in technology. However, this city is known as the capital base or wireless communications, whose aspirations are inclined toward innovation.
Also be found in thousands of highly skilled engineers, but looking for a job. Many of them have been fired from "Nokia", the Finnish company once synonymous with mobile phones, and finally between the risk of being faded into oblivion.
Although entrepreneurs "occupied" to be offered to such persons skilled labor, generous safety rules of society in Finland seem to have the opposite effect, discourage employment. Unemployed people generally can not earn extra income at the time they receive unemployment benefits, or else risk losing this assistance.
For employees downloaded from "Nokia", taking just check to ensure the unemployed makes them see this financial proposal as the best, rather than being pushed as "beginners" in a new job in Finland, where industry technology issues seem aims to find balance again.
Already, the Finnish government is exploring how to change these estimates, launching an experiment in the form of social welfare, universal basic income! Starting next year, the government plans to randomly select 2,000 unemployed, from programmer to construction workers. These revenues will be provided automatically, avoiding bureaucracy and eliminating penalties for providing additional income.
The government seems eager to see what will happen next. Do most people will continue to work where they are? They will launch new businesses? How many people will stop working and spend their income for vodka? They will be delivered between those suffering unemployment system constraints and will use their freedoms to further education, making them suitable for the most promising new career?
And obviously, the nature of the research extend beyond economic policy, throwing more light into the realm of human nature. Responses, which are expected to be determined after a two-year period, is expected to reshape the social welfare policies beyond known Nordic terrain.
