Spectacular robbery in Lyon. Thieves on the run with 70 kg gold
A group of armed aggressor are on the run after robbed at least 70 kg of gold from an armored van in France.
The event took place near the town of Lion on Highway A6 and was described as a Hollywood movie scene by eyewitnesses and security guards of the company van "Loomis".
French media write that, at least 3 armed aggressors used two cars to block the path of the armored van in a motorway exit. Once the van stopped, the robbers attacked security guards quickly, which further bound and put in the back of the van.
Later, the robbers disappeared with at least 70 kg of gold, valued at 2.5 million euros. Before leaving the scene, they burned a car of their own and spread fire to burn other vehicles nearby.
Escape car was also found burned away scene. French authorities did not provide details about the event, but was enough stating that they have launched an investigation. French media, meanwhile, reported that authorities have no information about the robbers, who seems to have left no trace left nothing.
