Italy, Prime Minister Gentiloni passes first test
Government "Gentilon" got a vote of confidence of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Parliament, where pro its 368 lawmakers voted in the hall, while 105 were against. To sit in the office of prime Gentilon must win a vote of confidence in both houses of Parliament.
Italian President Sergio Mattarella was he who appointed former Foreign Minister with the creation of new executive, Matteo Renz reformist leader after losing the referendum on constitutional reform.
Paolo Gentilon expected to hold the post until elections in February 2018. Following the announcement, he pledged to move "within the same frame" as the outgoing government Renz. Test next to Gentilon is the face of the Senate on Wednesday, where most of it is expected to be much smaller, partly as a result of the decision of a party that was allied with Renz, earlier, for not supporting administration new.
Italy's new leader on Monday presented the list of names of ministers to the president. Member 62-year-old Democratic Party, a close ally of Renz and a former journalist, said in a brief statement that there is an "urgent need for a government fully functional", in order to concentrate on economic and social issues.
All the main parties have called for elections as soon as possible, but the proposal was rejected by the head of state. Renz was prime minister for almost 3 years. He resigned after voters rejected a package to increase his power, to push economic reforms that he said would bring political stability in Italy.
