US, Britain a year in prison for the assassination attempt against Trump

Briton who tried to wrest a weapon with intent to kill former Republican presidential candidate, now president-elect Donald Trump, was sentenced to one year and one day in prison.

Michael Sandford, 20, pleaded guilty in September, as an illegal alien in the possession of a firearm with intent to do wrong to an official. He was accused of kidnapping a police gun during a rally in Las Vegas, to then shot Republican candidate.

His mother, however, says that "he is remorseful for his actions." Sandford, born in Dorking Surrey, risk up to 10 years in prison on charges of a murder plot.

The court ruled the possibility that he could be released after only 4 months, after which time he must immediately deported to Britain. The defense said their client was autistic and suffered from crises, anxiety and shaking.

After the arrest, Sandford told officers he had planned to shoot the Republican candidate, a real- estate tycoon. According to what was proved in court, he failed to grab the officer's gun.

His mother said he had lost contact with her son since he left home to travel to the USA in 2015. In the past he had never shown interest in the policy, and therefore can not be mother He explains the reason why he wanted to shoot Trump

According to court documents, Sandford was homeless and living illegally in the US while the visa had expired, while intelligence had said that he had traveled from California to Nevada with the objective to kill Trump.

Documents showed in detail how he had woven the plan for the attack in question for about a year, when it had gone on a shooting in Las Vegas the day before the act to learn how to shoot, shooting full 9 times with a pistol "Glock" the caliber 9 mm.

He had told an officer that he expected to die after the attack, but on the other hand, he had the tickets for another rally Trump in Arizona, if we needed a second chance.
